Our Analysis
ClickFunnels is the pioneer of sales funnel builders, launched by Russell Brunson in 2014. The current version (ClickFunnels 2.0) offers two plans: Startup at $97/month (1 site, 20 funnels, 3 courses) and Pro at $297/month (unlimited sites and funnels, 100 courses). The tool now includes a CRM, blog, membership area, email marketing, and course management. On Reddit (r/clickfunnels, r/Entrepreneur), the community remains loyal despite the sometimes chaotic transition from CF 1.0 to 2.0. Russell Brunson has built a genuine ecosystem with his books (DotCom Secrets, Expert Secrets, Traffic Secrets) and the "funnel hacker" movement that counts hundreds of thousands of practitioners.
ClickFunnels' real strength lies in its community and educational ecosystem, not just the software. The funnel templates are among the most tested and conversion-optimized on the market — tripwire funnels, webinar funnels, challenge funnels, book funnels. The drag-and-drop builder is mature and allows you to create complex sales pages without writing code. The native Stripe and PayPal integrations are smooth. On G2, reviews are mixed (3.6/5) but users who master the tool report significant ROI. The "Dream Car" affiliate program at 30% recurring has created an army of enthusiastic promoters.
The criticisms are numerous and consistent: the price is high compared to Systeme.io or Kartra for similar or even fewer features. The migration to CF 2.0 frustrated a huge number of users who lost their funnels or had to rebuild everything from scratch. On Trustpilot, negative reviews mention persistent bugs, slow page load times on published pages, and a noticeable decline in customer support quality since 2024. Some users report difficulties canceling their subscription, with charges continuing after cancellation requests. The site builder is limited compared to WordPress, and the email and CRM features are basic compared to dedicated tools. At $97/month minimum with no free plan, many alternatives objectively offer better value for money in 2026.
Cost Breakdown
Premium pricing justified mainly by the funnel ecosystem and community — feature-for-feature, cheaper alternatives like Systeme.io exist.
What Real Users Report
CF 2.0 was a disaster at launch. they lost 2 weeks rebuilding their funnels from scratch. It's gotten better since, but the trust is damaged. Still the best funnel templates in the game though.
This user switched from ClickFunnels to Systeme.io and saved $70/month with basically the same features. CF is riding on Russell Brunson's personal brand at this point, not software quality.
The ecosystem is what keeps them — the books, the community, the funnel frameworks, the Two Comma Club. No other platform has that culture. But purely on software merit, it's overpriced for what you get.
